Need a tiny pump that pushes some major psi? This little guy has saved my ass on many occasions since arriving in London. On one of our first rides across town to the Senate House Library Zoe got a flat. We were no more than 8 miles from the house. I had a patch kit and a really shitty hand pump so I gave Zoe my wheel and she went on to the library. I found the hole, patched it, and began to fist fight the hand pump.  Every time the tire pressure would rise the pump would try to jump off of the valve stem. Eventually I became very angry and found a bike shop, Cycle Surgery. There were lots of small pumps and CO2 pumps. After reading specs for twenty minutes I decided to buy the Lezyne Micro Floor Drive HP. If you do not want to worry about buying CO2 refills this is the pump for you.

The Lezyne Micro Floor Drive HP is a beast, a really small and powerful beast. Maximum psi for this pump is 160psi, that is well beyond what most of us need for day to day riding. The barrel, shaft, base, and handle are all made of CNC machined aluminum. This makes for a well constructed lightweight pump. It is only 300mm in length and weighs 150 grams. It is small enough to throw in your bag or in the rear pocket of your jacket but is a little too big for a rear jersey pocket.  The threaded chuck can be used for both Schrader and Presta valves which is amazing! This feature is great for those of us that ride different disciplines. The Lezyne pump also features and ABS (air bleed system) that is built into the chuck, this is a super handy feature that is available on tons of floor pumps but never really seen on micro pumps.

Since purchasing the Lezyne Micro Floor Drive HP I have had zero problems with it. The pump works perfectly every time I need it. All the parts are wonderfully crafted and built to last. The attention to detail can be scene in the small things. To make the hose longer it wraps over the t-handle and the chuck screws into the base for tidy storage. The tiny foot peg is made of Stainless Steel and is extremely useful folds for simple and easy storage.

You can pick one up for around $45 (USD) from Lezyne. You can also pick up the the Micro Floor Drive HPG. That has all of the above features along with a pressure gauge for $15 (USD) more.

This is a really good pump to keep in your bag, it is lightweight and small enough to pass unnoticed but works excellently when you need it.
